David Kapp founded his own label after stints with Decca and RCA Victor. Kapp licensed its records to London Records for release in the UK.

And the label was placed under Uni Records management; Kapp was consolidated with MCA's other record labels in 1971 and, in 1973, MCA Records released the last Kapp record. Catalogue albums that continued to sell were renumbered and reissued on the MCA label. Kapp's subsidiaries included Medallion Records (an audiophile label), Congress Records, Leader Records, and Four Corners Records with its "4 Corners of the World" logo.

Four Corners was formed to promote European artists, such as Françoise Hardy, Raymond Lefèvre, and the Barclay Singers. Today, the Kapp Records catalog is owned by MCA's successor-in-interest Universal Music Group through its Geffen Records subsidiary. 1954: Kapp Records was created by David Kapp. 1960: Kapp Records released one of the first cover versions of songs from The Sound of Music, which was running on Broadway at that time. The Pete King Chorale was featured on the album.

1964: Kapp Records released "Hello Dolly" sung by Louis Armstrong that became the number one song in America on Billboard Top 100, two months after The Beatles' arrived from England. The label also distributed American releases by another successful British Invasion group, The Searchers. 1966: The record label released the original cast album of Man of La Mancha, perhaps their most successful cast album. And it became a division of Uni Records. 1973: MCA released the last Kapp record.

The catalog and artist roster was absorbed by MCA Records. 2003: MCA Records is absorbed into Geffen Records, which currently manages Kapp's pop/rock/R&B catalogs. The country, jazz, and musical theatre catalogs are now managed by MCA Nashville Records, GRP Records, and Decca Broadway, respectively. Decca Broadway released a remastered version of the Man of La Mancha original cast album in 2001.

Throughout Kapp's history, its logo was a stylized "K" incorporating a phonograph record design. Three versions of this logo appeared during the company's history. Until 1970, this logo also appeared on a drum major's cap in a wordplay of the label's name. 1950s: Stylized "K/record" logo and KAPP at top of either red/white, silver/maroon or purplish red/white labels. Early 1960s: Black label with white "K/record" logo and KAPP in red at top, a similar design had a red drum major cap and KAPP in yellow at top. Mid to late 1960s: Black label with red drum major cap (showing "K/record" logo in yellow) and KAPP in black letters in white box at left for singles, at top for albums. A few 1970s releases were also pressed with the mid-to-late 1960s black label. This hand signed item is 100% original and authentic. We stand behind our COA. Specializes in rare and collectible movie scripts. Our scripts are genuine, authentic and screen used. We also carry movie props from no genre in particular.

Furthermore, all of our items that are not props or scripts can be found in our Other Memorabilia category. We do not sell reproductions or fakes. We have one of the largest collections of original movie screenplays in the world. We also carry scripts used in Television, Broadway, Radio and other forms of entertainment. Every script that we own was hand-picked one at a time over the many years of which we have been collecting.

A lot of people, new to collecting, are confused about the word Original. " In terms of movie scripts, the term "Original means that it was used by the production company in the early stages of production or that it was issued out to the cast and crew members during filming, and used at the time of production. Any scripts printed or used in any fashion after filming has completed are known as either a reproduction or a post-production script. These two types of scripts are much less valuable and desirable. All of our scripts are Original..

An original movie script has a lot of character in the item itself and every one of them is different in some way or another. There is usually only one script given to each crew member during production, however, sometimes they do get more than one. This makes original movie scripts very desirable because of how scarce they are.

Any changes made to the screenplay during production are known as revisions and these revision pages are inserted into that one script that was issued out to them. For example, if we are talking about a low-budget film with a small cast and only a few crew members, there are actually only a small number of scripts in existence around the world for that film. This aspect of collecting makes it fun but also difficult because there may be a certain writer or director that you love to collect and there may only be a handful of movie scripts that still exist from that specific film that you are looking for.

We have some of the rarest movie scripts in the world. Each film project has a different total number of scripts that are issued. The older a film is you also have to figure in the fact that a lot of the original movie scripts have been thrown out or destroyed over time. We do our best to provide the widest selection of original movie scripts in the world. Whatever actor, producer, director, writer or specific film department you are looking for, we probably have a movie script related to the person you are looking for in some form or fashion.

I know that there are a lot of items to search through, but there is definitely something for you. Once you check off this little box it will allow you to search for a specific word that is contained in any of our listings' actual description. Here all of the original movie scripts will be categorized by decade, which will help you to narrow down what you are looking for by the year it was made.
